I just shared my first document today with G Docs. I made it accessable to anyone since there is nothing private on the document. Its basically a checklist of work tasks in a project. Very simple. I think its a great feature to be able to share with anyone since I was sharing this document with someone who didn't have a google account, and wouldn't want to bother them by forcing them to set one up just to view and edit the simple document.

Thanks for pointing that out! You would think that Google would by default make things more secure so that users that aren't as conscious about security as you are can reap the benefits of being able to securely share documents with others without having to put forth extra effort. With that said, I wonder how many google docs users actually want anyone to be able to view their documents. It would make an interesting study.
